All of the students thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors creating their chalk pastel plein-air landscapes inspired by Monet’s famous masterpieces and overall style.  Thank you, Isabelle, for the terrific lesson idea and amazing art experience for all!

<![CDATA[Recycle Poster Contest District Winner, Julia Krepsztul]]>Mon, 29 Apr 2013 15:10:33 GMThttp://www.mccueart.com/2/post/2013/04/recycle-poster-contest-district-winner-julia-krepsztul.htmlOn Wednesday, April 24, Johnson School's Fourth Grader Julia Krepsztul was honored at the Regional HRRA ceremony for the Annual Recycle Poster contest.  She was declared the 2nd place winner for the Region and was awarded a certificate, gift, and savings bond.  Her poster was one of 2089 participants and 11 municipalities.  Her poster and all other district winners were displayed in full color in this past Sunday's NewsTimes.  Way to go Julia!!

In 4th Grade, Julia Krepsztul (1st place), Sela Domkofski (2nd), and Kenedy Cherniske (3rd). 
In 5th Grade Lily Kappes (1st place), Puneet Sidhu (2nd), and Sarah McKay (3rd). 

The winners will be recognized on March 21, at 7 p.m. at the Bethel Board of Education meeting. 
In addition, Julia is also a regional winner and will be Recognized at the Regional Awards Ceremony.  She will attend another special ceremony on April 24 in Danbury.
Great job everyone, and thank you for the excellent participation!

Johnson School students, Isabella Donatucci, Nicholas DeLuise, Isabelle Beers, Emelin Garcia, and Killian Mead, who have had an outstanding work of art selected to be a part of the 2013 Connecticut Art Educator’s Association Youth Art Celebration.

The CAEA Youth Art Celebration is a K-12 art show for all students in Connecticut.  Their work will be on display at the West Woods Upper Elementary School in Farmington CT from March 4- March 23, 2013.  The show reception will be on Saturday, March 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.
