Teacher for the Day
2017
5th Grader Hannah S.
On a beautiful spring day in early June of 2017 Hannah was one of two girls given the opportunity to be Art Teacher for the Day.
On her special day Hannah did a wonderful job coming up with ideas that allowed the children to make lovely watercolor pictures of landscapes and still life scenes. She demonstrated ways to use a variety of materials and did a terrific job of modeling ways to use coloring and painting media.
It was an amazing day for everyone. Thank you so much Hannah!

2014
4th Grader Alexis G.
On Tuesday, May 27, 2014 Johnson School had a very special day with fourth grader Alexis G. as acting Art Teacher for the day. Students learned all about Claude Monet, the founder of the Impressionistic Art Movement.
His philosophy was based upon expressing one’s perceptions and over sense of nature within their artwork. Everyone enjoyed a beautiful day outdoors creating their chalk pastel plein-air landscapes inspired by Monet’s famous masterpieces and overall style.
Also, Mrs. Gerety's class, Alexis' homeroom enjoyed painting rocks that she hand picked as a special treat. Thank you, Alexis , for a wonderful and special day!
