March is Youth Art Month, and is a time when educators across the nation promote the visual arts and art education in our country. Congratulations to the following R.M.T. Johnson School students, Isabella Donatucci, Nicholas DeLuise, Isabelle Beers, Emelin Garcia, and Killian Mead, who have had an outstanding work of art selected to be a part of the 2013 Connecticut Art Educator’s Association Youth Art Celebration. The CAEA Youth Art Celebration is a K-12 art show for all students in Connecticut. Their work will be on display at the West Woods Upper Elementary School in Farmington CT from March 4- March 23, 2013. The show reception will be on Saturday, March 2013 from 1 – 3 p.m.

There are two wonderful contest opportunities that the Johnson School artists are being encouraged to participate in these days. Parent support in these extra-curricular activities is very appreciated, and is a wonderful opportunity to get creative with your son or daughter.
1. Doodle 4 Google - Your youngster could win a $30,000 scholarship to the college of their choice! Learn more by checking out the contest site here. 2. Recycle Poster Contest - Students learn a great deal about the importance of recycling through this Regional contest. Check it out here. Make sure to scroll down to the "2013 Annual Recycle Contest / Bethel Entry Form" Thank you for supporting your child in their artistic endeavors! |
